The Niagara Peninsula, also known as the Fruit Belt, is rich in history and natural charm. The Region's prime location on the Great Lakes, climate and rich soil produce abundant crops annually. There are many agricultural and historical communities throughout the peninsula.

Fonthill

Just ten minutes south of St. Catharines is the Town of Pelham, Fonthill and Fenwick. Small and quaint, these peaceful communities boasts rolling hills and quiet country roads dotted with horse farms. Bicyclists love this area. Houses range from small cottage type homes to large executive homes in well-kept subdivisions.

Jordan Station

Just fifteen minutes west of St. Catharines is the peaceful little settlement of Jordan Station. Etched in the heart of the farming community, this sleepy little hollow has many beautiful homes both older and new. The topography of the area makes each home and landscape unique. A mixed array of styles, types and sizes.

Niagara Falls

To the east is the honeymoon capital of the world, Niagara Falls. This busy city is a must for everyone to visit. With the mighty Falls being the main attraction, there are museums, souvenir shops and restaurants of all types. You can take a ride to the foot of the Falls on the Maid of the Mist or see them from the sky from one of the towers. Visit the casino or the Factory Outlet Mall or just watch the crowds of people who have come from all over to experience the roar of the water. Housing in this area includes large century homes, small older homes and on the outskirts, newer subdivisions with family-size and large executive home.

Niagara-On-The-Lake

East of St. Catharines, just outside the city limits, you can find complete country living in Niagara-on-the-Lake and the surrounding towns of Virgil and St. Davids. Acres of orchards, fields and vineyards surround this simple community. The community holds a stampede every summer and the world famous Shaw Festival that is operated year round. There are all types of homes; single family, large two story and contemporary plus character homes.

St.Catharines

With a population of almost 130,000, St. Catharines has now become the major centre of the Niagara Peninsula. St.Catharines has gained the name of the garden city due to its rich soils, ideal for agriculture. It has all the amenities of a big city with the feel of a small one. The city hosts the annual grape and wine festival, a celebration of agricultural wealth which abounds in the area. Nature embraces urban development , facilitating both beauty and economic growth.

Thorold

Although the Town of Thorold adjoins St. Catharines, it has its own neighborhoods, tree lined streets and all the conveniences in one central location, just a few of the pluses. A perfect view of the Canal Lock System can be observed in Thorold as well. Northern Thorold is dominated with nature neighborhoods, whereas Southern Thorold is a new section with mainly two story and semi-detached homes.

Queenston

Nestled on the bank of the Niagara River, below the escarpment lies the beautiful village of Queenston. A rich historical site, Queenston offers a country life atmosphere close to city conveniences, only minutes away from Niagara Falls. Houses range from country homesteads, restored historical and character homes are available.

These are just the highlights of certain surrounding communities in our area. All that the St. Catharines Area has to offer is too numerous to mention. There is something for every person.
